We picked up Sugar on Thursday and posted a photo of her life tied to a barrel. Sugar wasn't doing well and has lost a lot of weight. We have wormed her, vac cinated and started her on antibiotics for what we believe could be coccidia. Thankfully, she is responding well and starting to perk back up. We have loaded up Carol with our very best foods both a lamb and rice formula made by Loyall and donated by Cargill and a Loyall pro blend that is 30 percent protein, 20 percent fat because Sugar needs good quality calories. I have some great canned food donated to CCARS this past week by a client of Dr. Abby Deuel's in Salem. I'm going to get this food to Carol as well to help Sugar on her way to full recovery.

Sugar was born with three legs. She has a little nub. She is super sweet and already spayed, so her adoption fee will only be $50.

The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs.

All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website.
